Control Horns for RC planes
I’ve been having fun making simple RC planes. When making a plane from foam board, the only additional mechanical components required are a motor mount and control horns.
The control horns are connected to the servo motors via a linkage to actuate the flaps on the wings. On a flying wing these are the only control surfaces.
I made a parametric design in Fusion360 to generate some different sizes of control horns. Where weight is important they want to be as small as possible, however, too small and the wing interferes with the linkage movement.
To create the designer above I first replicated the design in OpenSCAD but found it too difficult to embed in the page, requiring WASM. So instead I wrote it in JSCAD which is much better for the web.
